Dr. John J. Kim, L.Ac., OMD, Ph.D.
A trusted practitioner and educator, John J. Kim L.Ac., Ph.D. has a diverse and wide-raging practice in acupuncture, herbal medicine, Qi gong, Zen Meditation, and several other disciplines of Eastern Medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in acupuncture from Emperor’s College, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from SAMRA University and also a Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine from Yuin University. Since the beginning of his professional career in 1987, he has researched and published numerous articles on various aspects of a holistic healing and traditional Oriental Medicine. From 1994 to 2000, he was an active member of the Acupuncture Board of the State of California. Though his leadership as chairman of the Board in 1999 and 2000, his commitment to bridging the gap between Eastern and Western medicine has garnered a wider acceptance by both medical communities. He is also dedicated to enriching his community. In addition to his practice, he had been teaching Qi gong (breathing and stress reduction exercise similar to Yoga) for 20 years. He runs Zen Meditation classes to the public for over a decade. He also takes his patients and colleagues on a weekend long retreat to Sedona, Arizona.
